Bowie citizens invited to town hall meeting

City of Bowie Mayor Larry Slack and the Bowie City Council invite the public to attend a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Bowie Community Center, east hall.

Title of the program is “Your city, your community Where do we go from here?”

Slack said he will make a presentation on the current status of the city and then go into some of the areas that can impact the city’s future.

He plans on giving population statistics including information from a recent mayor’s workshop and power diversification possibilities.

Citizens are encouraged to attend and learn more about their city and its operations.

A brief question-and-answer period will be included said the mayor.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
