Saint Jo City Council to consider third officer

The City of Saint Jo will have executive session to discuss hiring a third police officer during its meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 9 at city hall at 220 E. Howell Street.

The city currently has Police Chief Tyler Roy and Officer Michael Montgomery, who has been on the staff for roughly one year.

In other public safety news, the council will ponder action on the Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department’s request to build an emergency medical service building. Read more on the full agenda in the mid-week News and watch for a follow-up story in the weekend News.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
