Bowie firefighters respond to fire at unoccupied house
City of Bowie firefighters responded to a house fire at 808 N. Matthews at 9:48 p.m. on Aug. 29. Fire Chief Doug Page said no one was in the residence at the time of the fire and the property had no electricity. There was fire damage in the living room. A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
