The Bowie High School volleyball team swept Jacksboro in three games for the second time this season on Tuesday.
The Lady Rabbits won by scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-14, and helped their chances in securing a possible playoff berth from District 3A-9.
Bowie stands at 21-14, 6-4 heading into today’s match against Paradise.
Addy Cook peppered 23 kills and hit a whopping .439 for the match. Cook also supplied 11 assists, had two solo ace blocks and served up two aces.
Overall, the Lady Rabbits produced a strong .259 attack percentage.
“I was pleased finishing in three sets,” Bowie head coach Jeanie Stark said. “I thought in set two we let up and had unforced errors, and gave away too many points. But, I felt like we executed when we needed to.”
Stark was truly pleased with Cook’s hitting efficiency, and the Lady Rabbits are in position to qualify for the playoffs.
“Every one of the four matches we have left is equally important because of the close race for a spot,” the coach commented. “Tuesday’s match here versus Nocona has a lot riding on it due to us being tied at the moment.”
Stark said it’s paramount for the Lady Rabbits to play with urgency because time is growing short.
Madison Little added six kills and Mackenzie Tole four. Taylor Thompson did a bit of everything with 16 assists, six digs, three kills, two ace blocks and one ace serve. Read more in the weekend Bowie News.
