Republicans conduct ballot filing party

Many of the Montague County’s Republican Party candidate prospects turned in their applications for the March 1, 2016 party primary during an event Thursday night.

The county Republican Party conducted a ballot application party in conjunction with its monthly meeting. Election filing began on Nov. 14.

Mari-Katherine Braswell, county chairperson, said it was a good opportunity for family and supporters to help launch their candidate’s campaign.

Braswell added she was receiving the applications and after they are reviewed they will be filed. Read the full story on who has filed so far in the opening week in your weekend News.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
