Precinct three begins initial road paving work in Montague

Published

on

By early summer, residents in Montague County see a portion of their community streets paved, thanks to a state grant to county commissioner precinct three.

During the last two weeks loads of rock have been pouring into Montague in preparation of the paving project. Commissioner Mark Murphey said he is excited to finally get to the real work after some two and a half years of shuffling paperwork for the grant.

Montague County received a $275,000 grant from a State Community Block Development Grant. After subtracting the engineering fees and administrative fees, the county will have about $209,000 to spend on five miles of paving throughout the community. Read the full story in the mid-week News.
