Rains close three area lakes
The City of Bowie and the Northern Montague County Water District have closed Amon G. Carter Lake and Lake Nocona to boat traffic. The Tarrant County Regional Water District has closed Lake Bridgeport as well, due to elevated lake levels. The closures are for public safety as well as the prevention of property damage. Lakes will reopen when the water levels fall to a safe level. Reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
