Nocona Rural Volunteer Fire Department responded to this fire on Uselton Road about 5 p.m. on Aug. 5. The fire began in a mobile home adjacent to the restaurant, Bear’s Den Diner. Fire Chief Rusty Henley said a strong south wind pushed the fire into the exposure. The mobile home was a total loss, although many personal belongings were salvaged. The restaurant, owned by Bear Weller, suffered about $5,000 in damage. Nocona Rural, Nocona Hills and Saint Jo VFDS all responded. There were no injuries. A gofundme account has been set up for the property owners. (Courtesy photo Amanda Horton)
