Court delays road crossing requests for pipeline company

A citizen’s plea before the Montague County Commissioner’s Court to delay action on a pipeline road crossing request for multiple locations was heeded and a 90-day reprieve approved.
TARGA NGL Pipeline Company LLC submitted permit requests for 16 road crossings on the following roads in precincts one and four: Durham, Thweatt, Admire, Odom, Talley, Thompson, Starkey, Catholic Cemetery, Jim Ned, Mallard, Dry Valley, Posey Brewer, Huddleston, Lake Valley, McClain and Sunset School Roads.
Stephen Kirkland, a resident in precinct one, asked for the 90-day delay during public comments.

City staff examines new generators for water plant

City of Bowie officials were on hand to inspect the emergency electrical generators that were delivered last week.
Mayor Gaylynn Burris and City Manager Bert Cunningham inspected one of three emergency electrical generators purchased as part of an ongoing Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant. They also talked with Jay Evans, head of the city electric department, and Jerry Sutton, director of the water treatment plant about the next step for installation of the generators.
This grant provides funding for one 150 kW and two 250 kW generators for use at the water treatment plant.
