Ruth Jill “Marmie” Timberlake
July 16, 1942 – November 5, 2023
HEATH, TX – Jill Timberlake, 81, affectionately known as “Marmie” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, surrounded by her husband and family, departed her earthly home on Nov. 5, 2023.
A celebration of Jill’s extraordinary life was at 2 p.m. on Nov. 10, at the First United Methodist Church of Heath, 140 Smirl Dr., Heath. A reception followed.
Jill was born on July 16, 1942, in San Antonio to Burton Junge and Ruth Brock Junge. Jill was raised in San Antonio and attended Ursuline Academy and later attended Thomas Jefferson High School. After high school, Jill attended San Antonio College majoring in history where she met the love of her life, Bill, who was finishing his studies to become a chiropractor.
Jill and Bill married on Sept. 7, 1963, at Travis Park United Methodist Church in San Antonio.
Jill and Bill moved to Dallas in 1964 where Jill assisted him in beginning his 54-year career as a Doctor of Chiropractic and a top consultant to the healthcare industry. Jill worked for Sun Oil Company until 1971 and thereafter dedicated her life to raising her four daughters and providing her loving support of Bill’s growing practice.
Jill was wildly talented, a creative who expressed herself across all mediums from the page to the canvas. She was an avid organic gardener and incredible cook, growing her own herbs and creating recipes that became legend in her family and social circles, that went on to be included in cookbooks and anthologies. She catered for three of her four daughter’s weddings and fed persons from every walk of life, from the homeless to the famous. She was a collector of dishes, a voracious reader, historian and a great American who loved her country and was active in politics from the local to federal level. Jill was a confidant and comfort to many and poured her heart into her family and friends every day of her life.
