District track has big winners
Last week all area schools competed in their district track meets to see who would move on to the area meet.
Bowie competed in the 3A meet at Iowa Park, Nocona competed at the 2A meet in Petrolia and all of the area 1A schools competed at Bowie.
For athletes or relay teams to qualify for area meet, they must have finished in the top four in their event. It would take up too much room to list every single athlete who qualified for area, so compare with the results listed at the end to see who went through.
The Bowie boy’s team finished third overall while the Lady Rabbits team got seventh overall. The athlete who won their event was Tyler Richey in the pole vault event.
For Nocona, the boy’s team reported finishing third overall and the girl’s team finished fourth overall. Athletes who won their event included Gracie Brown winning the 200 and 400 meter races, Ava Johnson winning the 100 meters, Kyle Waters winning the 400 meter race and the girl 4×400 relay team winning first overall.
The 1A meet saw both Saint Jo teams win the district title. Girl athletes who won their events included Savannah Hill in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles, Maxey Johnson in the shot put, Bryndle Brewer in the 400 meters and all three relay teams.

The Gold-Burg boy’s team finished second overall while the girls team got sixth place. The Bears who finished first place in their events were the boy’s 4×100 relay team and Eli White-Freeland who won the discus.
