Saint Jo Aldermen finalize budget, tax rate

Alderman with the Saint Jo City Council put the final approval on their 2025-26 budget, tax rate, economic development boards and other local rate increases.
No one spoke at the Sept. 10 public hearing for the budget, which is proposed at $1,672,706.05.
A tax rate of .519223 cents per $100 in property, which breaks out into maintenance and operation of .363740 cents and a debt service rate of .155483 cents.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
