Well, Bowie High School tennis coach David Hall ended his tenure with a bang.
Hall guided No. 1 girls’ doubles team Myah Russell and Meagan Russell to the University Interscholastic League state tournament in College Station earlier this May.
This marked Hall’s first time coaching state qualifiers. It will also be his last.
The Bowie News has learned Hall has decided to step down as head tennis coach.
Bowe athletic director Dylan Stark said the school district hasn’t found a replacement for Hall as coach.
Hall said he stepped down because of increasing time commitments with Sunset Church of Christ, where he has now been named an elder.
Hall as served as a tennis coach in some capacity in Bowie Independent School District for the past 14 years, and he was named head high school coach for the spring of 2010.
He will still work for the district as a full-time bus driver.
There are plenty of other coaching changes throughout the region.

Saint Jo
Saint Jo athletic director Chad Tallon reported Kyle Sivadon has been named head girls’ basketball coach, replacing Glenn Boerger. Sivadon previously was head coach at Okemah, Okla.
Dakota Crockett, a former Bowie standout who played for Texas A&M-Commerce, has been named Saint Jo’s new volleyball coach. She replaces Kristi Tallon.

Forestburg
At Forestburg, Brianna Watkins will replace Rosana Barbosa as the head volleyball and girls’ basketball coach. Barbosa has taken a teaching position in Jacksboro. Read more in the weekend edition of The Bowie News.
