LOCAL GOLF NOTEBOOK: Deweber, Yarbro closest to pin

Todd McMurray, Kevin Polk, Lynn Heller and Chuck Malone finished with a score of 27 to win the Tuesday Scramble on June 2.
Mike DeMoss, Jon Prestwood, Scott Watson and Brian Holland teamed up for second place with a 28.
Marc Reynolds, Whit Reynolds, Dave Sappington and Roger Foster were the third-place team at 30, winning a chip-off.
Todd DeArman, David DeArman, Scott Miller and Mike Ellis scored 36 for the twisty prize.
Scott Deweber was closest to the pin on Hole No. 3 and Dean Yarbro on No. 9.
Register for the scramble by 4 p.m. every Tuesday, with a shotgun start at 6 p.m.
Golf scramble winners named
Ron Everitt, Dewayne Hamilton, Andy Duke, Trace Morris and Yogi Gore fired a 3-over score to win the Tuesday Noon Game on June 2.
Dave Sappington, Marc Reynolds, Roy Stanley, Mike Ellis and Bubba Applewhite carded a 4-over for second place.
Everitt recorded the game’s lowest score with a 70, and Marc Reynolds was next with a 71.
Register for the noon game by 11 a.m.
Café on Green has ‘soft’ open
Café on the Green, the Twisted Oaks Golf Club’s new restaurant, had a “soft” open on Friday night during a couples scramble.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
