Bowie City Council finalizes ambulance fee ordinance

Business was brief and to the point Tuesday night for the Bowie City Council as two ordinances were approved and one contracted amended.

The city’s ambulance fee ordinance was finalized changing the collection process of ambulance fees for city residents. Under the new ordinance those with insurance or Medicare will be bill any additional funds not handled by that coverage. Those without insurance will be billed directly.

The first reading of an ordinance to extend the hours for alcohol beverage sales for permitted holders also had its first reading and earned two no votes. Read the full story in the weekend News.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
