LOCAL: Bowie boosters make purchases

The Bowie Athletic Booster Club made several purchases during Monday’s meeting in the high school commons.
The boosters agreed to purchase a Game Ready unit, which helps athletes with cold therapy for injury treatment and recovery.
The previous Game Ready unit was no longer working properly. The machine comes complete with wraps, and a power adapter. The cost will be roughly $2,100, including shipping.
The boosters also agreed to purchase several items for the Bowie baseball team – including a portable pitching mound, rubberized home plates for the bullpens, stirrups, a ball caddy and a fungo screen.
The cost of the baseball equipment was $2,074.10, said booster club officials. Read more in the Feb. 6 Bowie News.
