Montague County Commissioners on Monday approved upgrades to the current radio repeater system that serves county firefighters.

The court also heard from a group of citizens who live on Starr Mann Road asking when repairs will be made to their half-mile stretch of road.

Randall Preuninger, president of the Montague County Firefighters Association, presented the commissioners with a quote for new repeater. Last year the court allocated $50,000 to go toward the repeater upgrades, but it appears the quote is much less than expected.

Self Radio provided a quote of $48,219 for the system. The new repeater will add a fourth one within the county and will replace all the current units.
