Despite playing six-man football with only five men for the majority of Friday night’s game, the Gold-Burg High School football team managed to put up over 50 points in their season opener.
The Bears ultimately fell to Bejamin, who won the game 82-52 at Joe Corpening Field.
Gold-Burg registered 491 yards on 64 plays, averaging 7.7 yards per play, despite number two Ethan Hellman going down with a back injury with more than two minutes left in the first half.
“The game started off really well,” said Gold-Burg head coach Jay Johnson. Read more, and see complete statistics, in the Aug. 31 Bowie News.
