There will be many useful and enjoyable items up for live auction in the annual Shebang fundraiser for Tales ‘N’ Trails Museum, Montague County’s largest history museum planned for Sept. 29.
The museum operates on donations, memberships and foundation/grant support. Proceeds from Shebang go directly to operations and expansion of the museum. This year the banquet will celebrate the oil and gas industry heritage of the county.
Tickets for Shebang are $50 each or get a table for eight for $350. It includes a filet mignon dinner, the live and silent auctions, the popular “bucket” auction, the spin-the-wheel game and entertainment. Call the museum at 825-5330 to reserve your tickets.
Shebang will be at the Veranda Inn Events Center, 1523 E. U.S. Highway 81 in Nocona. Doors open at 6 p.m. on Sept. 29.
The live auction will feature some big items including two loads of base rock, 50 square bales of horse hay, a watercolor class for six, dinner for eight, a Nokona ball glove, hand-painted ceramic tile-top coffee table, a helicopter tour of the county, tickets to Nocona Nights Music Festival, a hot air balloon ride for two, sports memorabilia and a vacation to New Orleans.
In the silent auction take your chance to win from an array of art prints, rare books, gift items, tickets to Ancient Ovens, a one-hour massage, tickets to an Escape Room and more. For the bucket auction there will be community gift baskets with gift certificates and goodies from the region.
