Saint Jo
The Saint Jo Lady Panthers rebounded from a disappointing loss last week with a win at home on Tuesday night against the 3A team City View.
The Lady Panthers won in straight sets against the Lady Mustangs with scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-23.
The big win at home against a high classification team is just what Saint Jo needed following its loss at Prairie Valley on Aug. 23.

Gold-Burg
The Gold-Burg Lady Bears traveled to Perrin-Whitt on Tuesday night to take on the Lady Pirates.
Wanting to head into their own hosted tournament on a win streak after winning in Forestburg on Aug. 23, the Lady Bears won 3-1 in a tough match on the road with no set being won by more than five points.
Gold-Burg won the first two sets with similar scores 25-21 and 25-20. Unfortunately, Perrin-Whitt would not quit as it won a closely decided third set by the thinnest of margins 26-24 to force a fourth set.
The Lady Bears were determined not to let the Lady Pirates back into the match as it won the fourth set 25-20 to win the match 3-1.
Gold-Burg next plays Olney at 5 p.m. on Sept. 3 at home.

Prairie Valley
The Prairie Valley Lady Bulldogs lost at home on Tuesday night to Vernon Northside.
Coach Jeannie Carpenter said the Lady Indians are the best team the Lady Bulldogs have faced this season and it showed in the score. Vernon Northside won in straight sets with scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-16.
Coming off a cathartic victory against county team Saint Jo on Friday and seeing itself in the Texas Girls Coaches Association Poll top 25 poll for the first time all season, the game was a reminder to always keep working.
Prairie Valley plays at district rival Gold-Burg this weekend for its final tournament. The Lady Bears seem hell-bent on trying to take the district title away from the Lady Bulldogs this season. Saturday will be a preview for both teams of things to come.
Prairie Valley hosts Alvord at 6 p.m. on Sept. 3.

The new press box was by the Southern Bleacher Company out of Graham. Athletic Director Black Crutsinger said they looked at a lot of press boxes and decided they liked the one at Lindsay High School and went with that model.
