COVID-19 active cases stable at four

Montague County’s active cases of the Coronavirus continues to remain relatively stable with four case reported as of Oct. 6.
Those four case are confirmed through testing and reported to Montague County officials on the Department of Health daily report.
The number of fatalities also remains at six. In the overall total there have been 192 confirmed cases, 12 probable for a total of 204.
Montague County Health Authority Dr. Delbert McCaig urges citizens to continue their safety precautions including wearing a mask in all public places, washing your hands regularly and practicing social distancing whenever possible.

City staff examines new generators for water plant

City of Bowie officials were on hand to inspect the emergency electrical generators that were delivered last week.
Mayor Gaylynn Burris and City Manager Bert Cunningham inspected one of three emergency electrical generators purchased as part of an ongoing Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant. They also talked with Jay Evans, head of the city electric department, and Jerry Sutton, director of the water treatment plant about the next step for installation of the generators.
This grant provides funding for one 150 kW and two 250 kW generators for use at the water treatment plant.
