After last Friday’s gut-wrenching one-point District 3A-9 loss to Nocona, how would Bowie respond against Jacksboro on Tuesday?
Well, the Jackrabbits won by a convincing 71-43 spread, but head coach Doug Boxell still thought the team could have played better.
“I wasn’t too pleased with how the game plan was executed,” Boxell said. “But we’re happy about a near 30-point win still.”
Bowie improved to 13-9 overall and 2-2 in 3A-9.
The Rabbits received a welcome boost with the return of Trey Johnson, who had been feared to be out for the remainder of the season with an injury.
“He’s quick,” Boxell said. “He also has a good basketball IQ.”
Bowie built a double-digit lead by halftime, and the Jackrabbits were up 24 after three quarters. But, the team allowed too many points in the fourth quarter to Jacksboro.
