LITTLE DRIBBLERS: Local tournaments coming up

The Bowie Little Dribblers will be playing host to the Bowie Basketball Bash from Feb. 19-21.
There will be eight divisions: 8-under, 10-under, 12-under and 14-under boys and girls.
There will be first- and second-place individual trophies.
All five of Bowie’s gymnasiums will be in use, including both at the high school and both at the junior high. All gyms are within two miles of each other.
There will be full concessions, including burgers, fries and baked potatoes.
The age of the player is as of the first day of the tournament.

Nocona Tournament
The Nocona Little Dribblers will be having the Basketball Blowout Invitational Tournament from Feb. 26-28.
Little Dribblers rules will be in effect.
There will be eight divisions: 8-under, 10-under, 12-under and 14-under boys and girls.
The 8-under and 10-under divisions will play on 8 ½-foot goals and teams can only play man-to-man defense and can’t press until the fourth quarter.
Twelve- and 14-under divisions will play regular basketball.

Prairie Valley Sports Awards

Prairie Valley hosted its high school awards banquet on May 9. The O.C. Mann Award went to Josh Stout and Linzie Priddy.

Gold-Burg High School hosted its awards banquet on May 22. The Gold-Burg Iron Bear Awards went to Eli Freeland-White for boy athlete and Hallie Nelson for girl athlete.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
