Saint Jo teams get season underway

The Saint Jo Panthers lost a tough full game at home against Era on Tuesday.
The Hornets won 5-1 against the Panthers, doing most of the damage late in the game.
The teams exchanged one run each in the first inning, with Saint Jo’s Trevor O’Neal driving in Collin Thomas on a single to tie the score at 1-1.
The next score happened in the fifth and sixth inning when Era scored four runs on three sacrifice fly balls to go up 5-1.
The Saint Jo Lady Panthers picked up a big win at Victory Christian Academy on Tuesday night.
The Lady Panthers won 19-1 in only three innings due to run rule against the Lady Patriot private school team.
Saint Jo went up 2-1 after the first inning. After a scoreless second inning, the Lady Panthers broke the game open, scoring 17 runs.
Victory Christian had no answer and the game ended after three innings with Saint Jo winning 19-1.
Maxey Johnson led the team with three RBIs and four hits.
Payzlie Cervantes and Kayden Skidmore added two RBIs each to help lead the team.
Johnson also pitched all three innings on the mound, striking out four and walking two while allowing two hits. The one run that came across was due to one of the two errors Saint Jo had in the game.
