Commissioners may lift burn ban

Published

on

After two weeks of rain, snow and ice, Montague County Commissioners will consider lifting the ban on outdoor burning when they meet at 9 a.m. March 9.

It was just one month ago the burn ban was implemented on Feb. 9.

The court will open and award bids for trucks to haul gravel for the precincts. Commissioners have begun road work across the county stemming from the County Infrastructure Grant.

In other road topics, the court will consider posting a weight limit on Upper Montague Road per a recommendation from the Texas Department of Transportation.

Other agenda items will include: Approval of January treasurer reports; maintenance contract with VistaCom requested by the sheriff; lease agreement of election equipment for the May elections; consider a transition to chip and pin cards with Citibank Credit Cards; ; fence line clearing at the Heard Ranch on Bates Road; and consider two bids for lots in Oak Shores and the Landor Addition.
