Neighborhood Watch learns about car burglary, drug crimes
The monthly Neighborhood Watch meeting took place on Tuesday with local police providing information on protecting yourself from theft and drug crimes.
New Neighborhood Watch Captain Dillon Steen welcomed the audience and thanked former captain Stephanie Post for her efforts and dedication. NW Lt. Kathy Adam also will be assisting Steen with the watch committee.
“We are dedicated to keeping this program rolling, growing and working together with our police department and citizens to make this program the best and most effective for all. Never hesitate to reach out by messaging the watch page if you have questions or we can direct you to the right folks,” said Steen.
Assistant Police Chief Kent Stagg and Detective Sgt. Bob Blackburn gave the program pointing out that theft and drug crimes often go hand-in-hand during the holiday season. They encouraged citizens to be more vigilant during this time. They also discussed vehicle burglaries and porch burglaries of delivered packages. Read the full story in the weekend Bowie News.
