Cruisin’ Nocona planned May 4-6

Nocona, the official “Classic Car Capital of Texas,” invites you to the Fifth Annual Cruisin’ Nocona and Vicari Car Auction May 4-6.
On May 4 activities begin with the poker-run car cruise rolling out of town at 10 a.m. Winding through some of the prettiest views of Montague County will be more than 100 cars of various ages and designs. They will stop for lunch for lunch in historic Saint Jo.
Registration is $50 and gets you pre-registered for the cruise, a fifth anniversary T-shirt, a tote and lunch. Extra shirts and lunches are available for passengers.
Early cruise registration runs through April 24. On-site registration will be $65 and will be set up at the corner of Clay and Pine in downtown Nocona with the following schedule: 3 to 7 p.m. on May 3 and 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on May 4.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
