Tales ‘N’ Trails invites everyone to emboss their brand in the barn concrete

The board of the Tales ‘N’ Trails Museum in Nocona invites anyone interested in having their brand embossed in the new agriculture barn interior concrete slab  to drop their  branding iron off to the museum this week.
There is no charge to have your family or ranch brand included in the slab which is scheduled to be poured at the end of this week. Bring your branding iron, electric or iron, to the museum located at 1522 E. U.S. Highway 82. They will be available for pickup after the pour.
A data sheet with information all the participating brands will be maintained by the museum. If you don’t make it in time for this pour there are plans to use brands on the sidewalks.
The agriculture exhibit barn is the newest addition to the museum that showcases Montague County history. It will how many of the larger exhibits such as restored wagons and buggies, as well as other elements of the agricultural industry in the county.
There are various levels of sponsorship within the facility including a $500 brand sponsorship. The brand will be painted on a plow disc, and then put on wall with information about the brand.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
