U.S. Highway 82/287 Yard Sale coming on June 7-8

It is the season for shopping and selling. In fact, there will be more than 400 miles of it coming in June as Bowie Community Development and Bowie Chamber of Commerce, along with the Red River Valley Tourism Association invite the public to this year’s regional event of the season – the U.S. Highway 82/287 Yard Sale on June 7-8.
In the Red River Valley area Second Monday Trade Days will be happening in Bowie along with yard sales, garage sales, sidewalk sales, farmer’s markets and flea markets located within participating communities covering 425 miles of the Highway 82 and Highway 287 corridors and beyond.
From as far as New Boston to the east, to Seymour to the west, south to Henrietta and north to Quanah and points in between, shoppers are sure to find many treasures in Texas and Oklahoma.
It is fun for the entire family as this trek takes your travels across the Red River Valley region. Cindy Roller, director of Bowie Community Development said it is a great way to discover fun, as well as, interesting places from historic sites and community heritage from art to antiques to cattle trails and cultural places. Bowie fish fry to assist youth fair sales on Jan. 4

Enjoy a fish fry and live music concert on Jan. 4 all to support the 4-H and FFA youth of Montague County as they compete in the annual youth fair.
The annual Bowie fish fry for the Bowie buyers group will begin serving at 5:30 p.m. at the Bowie Community Center. Cost is $10 per plate. There will be a live auction at 7 p.m.
The evening’s concert will feature Dax Davis. Live music begins at 8:30 p.m. with the Davis concert at 9:30 p.m. Cost for the concert is $25 per ticket and $20 for a student, or $300 for a reserved table for eight.
