BEDC breaks ground on business park spec building

Ground was broken Wednesday morning on construction of a $2,2 million 10,000 square foot spec building at the Bowie Business Park.
This has been a project more than four years in the making as economic development officials had to rethink and revamp their plans several times due to higher constructions costs post-COVID and cut through layers of government red tape.
It was an exciting day for directors from the Bowie Economic Development Corporation and 4B Sales Tax Corporation as they turned dirt. The BEDC is borrowing $1 million and will use contingency for the remainder.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
