Montague County Commissioners wrap up budget hearings
Montague County will move forward with plans to keep county-wide voting in place following action by the commissioner’s court on Tuesday.
The court met in called session Tuesday for a pair of public hearings on the proposed tax rate, and the application for a successful designation in the county-wide polling place program.
A 42 cent per $100 in property value tax rate is being considered for 2015. This rate is .058 cents higher than the 2014 rate of .3620 cents. The proposed tax rate divides into .34890 for maintenance and operations and .01310 for debt service. Read the full story in the mid-week News. A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
