HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL RANKINGS: Bowie girls remain 14th

The Bowie High School girls’ basketball team remained in 14th spot in the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Conference 3A girls’ poll.
Bowie stands at 20-5 overall and 7-0 in District 3A-9 after this past Friday’s victory over City View.
Sunnyvale is the leader with a 23-2 mark and Shallowater is second with a 19-1 record.
On the boys’ side of the ledger, Bellevue inexplicably dropped one spot while continuing to win – and that includes Friday’s victory over Forestburg on the road.
Bellevue is now 16-7.
Cypress Woods leads Conference 6A girls with a 21-1 mark, while North Shore Galena Park is second. Cedar Park Vista Ridge is tops in Conference 5A at 24-2.
Waco LaVega now has command of Conference 4A at 23-2. Abilene Wylie is second.
Plains is the leader in Conference 2A at 22-1 with Wellington, another traditional Texas power, in second spot.
Nazareth leads 1A with a record of 20-2 and Strawn is second at 24-2. Read more on the rankings in the mid-week Bowie News.
