JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Montague boys, girls split with Prairie Valley

The Montague School girls’ basketball team defeated Prairie Valley while the Eagle boys suffered a loss to the homestanding Bulldogs on Jan. 12.
The girls prevailed by a score of 43-15 while the boys lost 47-21.
Averee Kleinhans totaled a game-high 26 points in the Eagle win. She also dished off three assists, swiped three steals and grabbed three rebounds.
Hope Howard netted seven points, had five steals and snared seven rebounds. Trystin Fenoglio added six points, four assists, five steals and four rebounds.
Sydni Messer and Mikey Jordan also scored for Montague. Halea Holding contributed five steals and two rebounds.
On the boys’ side, Dalton Atteberry netted nine points to go with three steals and two rebounds. Kodiak Jordan tallied four points and nine boards.
J.D. Cunningham chipped in with four points, two assists, two steals and three rebounds. Ryan Moore contributed two points and five rebounds and Connor Sears two points and seven rebounds.
Montague played Forestburg Monday.
