JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Montague splits games

The Montague School girls’ and boys’ basketball teams played at Forestburg on Monday.
The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Horns 43-13.
Montague set the tempo by forcing turnovers, controlling the boards and shooting the ball well.
Averee Kleinhans totaled 19 points, swiped six steals, had three rebounds and dished off three assists.
Hope Howard also scored in double figures with 12 points and she had eight rebo9unds. Trystin Fenoglio distributed seven assists to go with five rebounds, three steals and two points.
Sydni Messer scored four points, Laythen Medford, Halea Holding and Mikey Jordan also scored for the Eagles. Jackie Hanna and Gabby Valdez also contributed to the win.
On the boys’ side, Forestburg downed Montague 55-25. Read more in the weekend Bowie News.
