Bowie
The Bowie Lady Rabbits lost a tough match on the road Friday night at City View.
The Lady Mustangs completed a five-set come back to win 3-2 against the Lady Rabbits.
Bowie was coming off another five-set win against Jacksboro the previous game and knew it would be tough. City View nearly forced a fifth set in the first match before the Lady Rabbits won a close set four to end the match before it got to that point.
Bowie knew it needed to take every one of the games seriously to try and keep its fourth place in the district standings.
The Lady Rabbits came out ready to play, easily winning set one in dominant fashion 25-13. The second set saw the Lady Mustangs wake up and compete a bit more, but Bowie was in control as it won 25-21 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Then the match switched to City View’s favor and the Lady Rabbits could never get it back.
Sets three and four were similar in the Lady Mustangs grabbed control of each one and never let Bowie wrench back control. City View won with set scores 25-18 and 25-19 to tie the match up 2-2 and force a set five.
Despite coming in with momentum, set five is different than any other set. Played to 15 instead of 25, every little lead feels multiplied as the end is near for both team and nerves can be felt more than at any other point in the match.
The Lady Rabbits competed better than they had in the previous two sets to keep it close, but unfortunately it was the Lady Mustangs that came out on top, winning 15-12 and the match 3-2.

Nocona
The Nocona Lady Indians won their third district match in straight sets on Friday at Chico.
The Lady Indians won with similar scores in each set against the Lady Dragons as Nocona continues to not be challenged much during district play.
The Lady Indians won with set scores being 25-16, 25-17 and 25-16 meaning Nocona played well, but was not at its best.
Aubree Kleinhans led the team with seven digs while her and Ava Johnson also had three service aces each. Bren Fenoglio had a team high two blocks to lead the team on defense.

Forestburg vs Saint Jo
The Saint Jo Lady Panthers won on the road on Friday night at Forestburg.
The Lady Panthers won in straight sets, though the Lady Horns made them work and nearly took the second set.
Saint Jo won with the set scores being 25-16, 26-24 and 25-12.
Saint Jo Coach Kelly Skidmore thought her team played well overall, but knows there is some polishing up the team has to do with playoffs on the horizon for her team.
“We have to focus more on our serves and not missing them in critical points,” Skidmore said.
For Forestburg, Coach Kayla Firth thought her team showed good hustle and effort during the match, but too many mistakes did not give them a chance to make the match closer.
“We just need to shake off the errors and keep fighting when things get difficult,” Firth said.

Prairie Valley vs Gold-Burg
The Prairie Valley Lady Bulldogs won a district match against Gold-Burg on Friday night.
The Lady Bulldogs won in straight sets against the Lady Bears.
Prairie Valley won with the set scores being 25-12, 25-6 and 25-18.
Linzie Priddy led the Lady Bulldogs with nine kills. Renee Stout had a team high 12 assists. Kai Carley led the team with six service aces while Natalee Young gathered 24 digs in the back row.
Coach Seth Stephens thought his team played well in the match.
For Gold-Burg Coach Cheryl Cromleigh, the game was not a good one for her team.
The losses are starting to catch up and affect team morale and play out on the court.
