Bowie
The Bowie Lady Rabbits broke a two-game losing streak as they beat Vernon at home on Saturday.
The Lady Rabbits won in straight sets, playing better as the match went along against the Lady Lions.
Bowie was coming off disappointing losses to City View and Holliday heading into the game and really needed to win in order to keep its playoff hopes alive.
The Lady Rabbits had beaten Vernon in the first round of district play, but the Lady Lions were also battling for the final playoff spot in district so the match could have been tough.
The first set made it look like the match would be competitive as it came down until the final few points.
Bowie just pulled away at the end to win by the smallest of margins 25-23 to go up 1-0.
The second set saw the Lady Rabbits take control and Vernon could not get it turned around despite playing well at times. Bowie won 25-15 to take 2-0 lead into set three and was looking to put the Lady Lions away.
That is what happened as Vernon failed to show up in set three. The Lady Rabbits dominated from start to finish as the Lady Lions failed to execute even the small things as Bowie’s lead grew and grew.
In the end, the Lady Rabbits closed the match anti-climatically, winning 25-4 and 3-0.

Nocona
The Nocona Lady Indians kept up their undefeated play in district with a win at Alvord on Friday.
The Lady Indians won in straight sets again, keeping up their district streak of not dropping a set.
Nocona won with relative ease, with only the second set being competitive for the majority of the set. The scores were 25-12, 25-20 and 25-13.
Bren Fenoglio and Ava Johnson each had a team high three service aces each. Aubree Kleinhans had a team high 11 digs.
Skyler Smith led the team with 11 kills and was second with 13 assists.
Meg Meekins had a team high 15 assists and was second with nine kills and 10 digs. Smith and Avery Crutsinger each got one block.

Forestburg vs Prairie Valley
The Forestburg Lady Horns won a five-set match against Prairie Valley on Friday to equal the team’s records against each other.
The Lady Horns held off a furious comeback to win 3-2 against the Lady Bulldogs.
Both teams were vying for second place with Saint Jo wrapping up the district title. Prairie Valley won the first match between the teams at the first of the month. On Friday it was a different story.
Forestburg won the first two sets that were as close and competitive as it could be. The first set the Lady Horns won 25-22. The second set was even closer and Forestburg pulled out the win in extra points 27-25 to take a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Bulldogs came back, storming through the next two sets. Prairie Valley won set three comfortably 25-17 before easily winning set four 25-13 to tie the score up at 2-2 and force a fifth set.
Despite the Lady Bulldogs coming in with all of the momentum, the eerie fifth set was different.
With the set going to 15 instead of 25 and the knowledge of it being winner takes all makes it a different set from everything that came before it.
Forestburg was able to bounce back and won the fifth set 15-10 to close the match 3-2.

Bellevue vs Gold-Burg
The Gold-Burg Lady Bears won their first district match of the season in their rematch at Bellevue on Friday.
The Lady Bears won in straight sets against the Lady Eagles, getting a bit of revenge after losing to them earlier in district play.
Gold-Burg won with the set scores being 25-19, 25-22 and 25-13.
Lady Bears Coach Cheryl Cromleigh thought her team put it all together to play one of their best games of the season as it nears its end.
