Signing ceremonies are becoming a regular routine for the Bowie High School baseball team.
Bowie’s Dylan Slade became the latest athlete in putting pen to paper, signing a letter of intent to play next year at Rose State College.
“We are looking at Dylan at first base and we are very excited about his upside as a hitter for us,” Rose State head baseball coach Coty Cooper said in an email to the Bowie News.
Rose State is a community college located in Midwest City, Okla., with an enrollment of nearly 13,000 students. The Raiders play in the Bi-State Conference with the likes of Eastern Oklahoma, Seminole State, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Connors State.
This past Wednesday, Rose State and North Central Texas College split a non-league doubleheader. The Raiders are currently sporting a record of 10-13.
“Financially, it’s a big thing for me to go to Rose State,” said Slade, who plans on taking general education courses en route to a future in business administration. “The program is not too far from home.”
Rose State is roughly 10 miles from downtown Oklahoma City. Read the weekend Bowie News for more.
