Man jailed for theft, burglary of a vehicle

A Paradise man was arrested on Aug. 21 in connection with a pair of stolen vehicles, theft and credit card abuse.
Jack Lawson, chief deputy for the Montague County Sheriff’s office, said William Henry Williams, 32, was a suspect in a series of illegal activities that occurred across more than a week.
On Aug. 14 Paul O’Dwyer reported a stolen 2000 three-quarter ton single cab with a dump bed taken from his property located on FM 174 just outside of Bowie.
Then on Aug. 18, Billy Lee had his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado flat-bed truck taken from his home at 206 Kent Street.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
