Montague County Youth Fair makes some show changes

Published

on

In less than week more than 300 youth from across Montague County will gather for the 2026 youth fair Jan. 5-10.
From homemade salsa and artwork to curly haired sheep and soft bunnies they will all compete for the coveted grand champion blue ribbon. There are 1,074 entries from a total of 322 young people. While this may be down slightly from the 1,160 entries last year, the fair continues to expand and grow which lead the youth fair committee to make some date changes this year.
The premium sale remains on Saturday night on Jan. 10 at the ag. center. The home economic silent auction runs 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the show barn.
The premium sale is at 6 p.m. with showmanship buckles and Leadership Day Awards will be presented prior to the sale.
The home economic division show has moved to Jan. 6 with early check-in on Jan. 5. Leadership Day events will be on Jan. 6. The swine show has moved from its perennial spot on Saturday to Jan. 9, while ag. mechanics judging also moves to Jan. 9.
