TRACK AND FIELD: Bellevue’s Cobbs 2nd in long jump

Several local track and field teams warmed up for today’s Conference 1A Area meet at Ponder during the Lindsay Invitational.
Bellevue and Saint Jo were among the schools in competition.
Among varsity boys, Bellevue scored 14 points and Saint Jo eight.
Garrett Parker and Laramie Brawner gave Saint Jo all of its points. Parker vaulted to a mark of 12-feet and Brawner marked at 11-feet.
Bellevue’s Jeremiah Cobbs provided the Eagles with all of their points. Cobbs was second in the long jump at 19-11¼, fourth in the 100-meter dash at 11.21 seconds and fifth in the jump with a leap of 5-10.
On the girls’ side, Saint Jo totaled 14 points, with all the points in the field events.
Karla Fernandez was the gold standard in the discus, marking at 81-feet even. Read more in the weekend Bowie News.
