GOLF NOTES: Wells takes golf crown
Cal Wells was named 2014 Oil Belt Senior Grand Champion.
Wells, a member of Twisted Oaks Golf Club in rural Bowie, scored a 6-under par 137 at Canyon West Golf Course in Weatherford and Runaway Bay for the title.
Wells is a member of the Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday noon game.
Trio wins Thursday card
Ron Everitt, Greg Vicars and Ron Moxom were the overall winners of the Thursday Noon Game on Nov. 20 at Twisted Oaks Golf Club in rural Bowie.
The trio shot a 2-under par.
They were the winners of the second-nine with a 3-under score.
Cal Wells, Roy Stanley and Yogi Gore were the first nine winners, at 1-under par.
The Thursday Noon Game is open to any experienced golfer looking for competition.
Be at the course at 11:30 a.m. to get in the game.
