Applications for ballot by mail available
Those wishing to obtain a ballot by mail for the Nov. 4 general election must submit it no later than the close of business on Oct. 24.
You are eligible to vote by mail if you meet any of the following requirements: Age 65 years or older, sick or disabled, expected to give birth within three weeks of election day on Nov. 4, out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance, confined in jail but otherwise are eligible and civilly committed under Chapter 841 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.
Here are the ways to apply:
Print an application by ballot by mail, fill it in, sign and then mail or hand deliver it to the Montague County Elections’ office. You also can visit the office in person at 11339 State Highway 59N in Montague inside the courthouse annex.
All applications for ballot by mail should be mailed to: Ginger Wall, elections administrator, P.O. Box 158, Montague, TX 76251. They also can be hand delivered to the office.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
