The Bowie Lady Rabbits continued district play Tuesday, hosting the Lady Panthers of Paradise.
The 16th-ranked Lady Rabbits looked uncharacteristically off their game, but still managed a 57-46 win to improve to 4-0 in district play and 17-5 overall.
“I wasn’t very pleased with the start,” said coach Colby Davis-Pastusek. “We executed the gameplan poorly.”
Entering the second quarter of play, Paradise actually had a slim 11-10 lead.
However the Lady Rabbits outscored their opponents 19-8 to take a 29-19 lead to the half.
Davis didn’t mention any special plans, and she said the Lady Rabbits prepared for Paradise as they would any other team. She complimented the Lady Panthers on their guard play, which helped them compete versus Bowie.
Courtney Brady led the team with 16 points along with four rebounds, two steals and an assist. Jordan Brightwell recorded 14 points with 15 rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist.
Logan McMurray and Kamryn Cantwell tallied 10 points. McMurray added five rebounds, three blocks, two steals and four assists.
