BOWIE – Charles William Stephenson, 83, died on Sept. 13, 2026.
He was born in Sunset to Edgar and Vita (Willett) Stephenson on July 1, 1943. Charles married Janet White and worked for Redman Dozer and Backhoe Service for several years. He also drove a truck over-the-road for years.
He is survived by two children, Tim Stephenson, Bowie and Karen Stephenson, Mineral Wells; six grandkids all of Mineral Wells and several great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Eva Mae Redman, Peggy Dell Butler, Ruth Lavern Mayfield, Lilly Rose Sutton, Burma Irene Jacobs and Patsy Jane Cornelison; four brothers, Roy Edward Stephenson, Bobby Gene Stephenson, Jimmy George Stephenson and Donald Ray Stephenson and three great-grandchildren.

September 24, 1951 – September 12, 2026
BOWIE – Gary Lyn Hoyer, 74, died on Sept. 12, 2026.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Sept. 24 at White Family Funeral Home in Bowie with military honors provided by a Color Guard of the United States Navy.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1951, in Wichita Falls. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1991, achieving the rank of AE1. He served aboard the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, where he worked on A6 Intruders and received awards like the National Defense Medal and two service deployment ribbons.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Metha Hoyer; brother, Stanley C. Hoyer; wife, Irene C. Hoyer and sons, Manuel Contreres Jr. and Christopher “Chris” Contreras.
He is survived by his siblings, Barry W. Hoyer, Robert V. “Bobby” Hoyer and Rebecca D. “Becky” Hoyer-Diaferio; three children and 13 grandchildren.

July 14, 1933 – September 12, 2026
NOCONA – Undean “Deannie” Carroll, 93, died on Sept. 12, 2026, in Nocona.
Graveside service is pending in Borger.
She was born July 14, 1933, in Pampa.
Deannie grew up in Phillips where she played in the band, was a twirler and drum major. She attended Frank Phillips College where she sang in a vocal group, was a cheerleader and was voted best personality.
At 14, she met her best friend and lifelong love, Pat. They were married on Sept. 12, 1953. They lived in San Diego, CA for 32 years before retiring to Fritch.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Nocona.
She is survived by her daughters Di Ann, Nocona; Lesa Carroll, Richardson; Kellye Carroll, Sierra Madre, CA; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
